i believe the beauty of clay lies in its story and functionality.

my ceramics are made for everyday life

combining utility with beauty, carrying the subtle touch of the hands, unique glazes, and natural textures.

my creative path began in my fine art degree, but in 2007, a ceramics class changed everything. back then, i always struggled to focus. yet, the moment i sat at the potters wheel, the world quieted down. i could spend hours shaping, forming, and transforming clay. the wheel became my grounding place.

wanting to share this sense of peace, I founded Deer Workshop in 2015 on Tai Nan Street

one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant creative hubs. in that small space over six years, i met my best friends, collaborated with incredible cafes, and taught over 2,000 students how to craft their favorite daily mugs.

then came the turning point at 2019. like many other Hongkongers, my partner and I chose to start over on the other side of the world. we instantly fell in love with Bristol, as a vibrant harbour city filled with independent makers, it beautifully reminded us of our roots, lead us decided to relocate here in 2023.

but relocation brought deep homesickness.

lost, i tried to stop making pottery and applied for countless ordinary jobs. rejection after rejection followed, leaving me completely unfulfilled. it was during this dark time that i realized: making pottery is the only thing i want to do forever.

hope came when i landed a parttime potter job in Devon. working for a lovely studio owner who took me in, i spent days repeating a single form on the potters wheel, looking out at the beautiful English countryside. it healed me, and kept my fire burning.

in may 2026, an opportunity appeared to take over a space right next to Christmas Steps, in the historic heart of Bristol.

it took me just ten minutes to say yes.

here i am. after years of uncertainty, i finally have a studio to call home again.

i mainly create tableware in this studio. cups, bowls, plates, and teapots. each piece is thoughtfully crafted to bring joy to your daily rituals, to share meals with, and to savor tea from. i hope my story, this new space, and the ceramics born here, bring you the same peace and warmth that pottery has always given me.
